Actually, the legendary shoe designer Christian Louboutin requires no further explanations, but the success story of this iconic shoe designer is exceptional. At the young age of eleven, Christian Louboutin was enchanted by a woman's shoe. As he likes to tell, his love for shoes has been aroused by a prohibition sign. In front of a museum in Paris, the graphic of a crossed stiletto heel should discourage women from ruining the parquet floor with their shoes. Louboutin was highly impressed by the form of the pictured stilettos and drew it again and again. The drawings of women's shoes soon were found all over his school books. Also, the dancers of Paris' music halls served as a big source of inspiration for him. After an apprenticeship at the famous vaudeville theater “Folies Bergeres” in 1980, Louboutin learned his handcraft from Charles Jourdan, Maud Frizon, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent.

1992 Christian Louboutin opened his first boutique in Paris. His creations were immediately celebrated enthusiastically by the fashion scene. But it was a single brilliant idea that made Christian Louboutin a real star: When he had the feeling that one of his creations was lacking that certain something, Louboutin quickly grabbed for the red nail polish of his assistant and painted the shoe sole in a red color.
